Alexander Pagani Reveals 2 Ways to Discover Generational Curses

There’s no question that today we are living in an imperfect world that has been hit by sin. However, so many people are wondering what is going wrong in their lives when it seems like they have no direct connection to circumstances, depression or negative pulls that keep striking their lives. How can this happen? Through the power of generational curses.

The revelation of generational curses is not easily defined or outlined in the Scriptures as many others revelations, the topic of generational curses can only be discovered two ways. The first is by unintentionally stumbling upon it and the second is by intentionally searching for it. The first, is a person not intentionally looking for it but stumbles across it hidden in a field.

It’s usually during interacting with other believers (sometimes through conversation) that the Holy Spirit will begin to highlight certain unnoticed hereditary patterns of behavior and identifying them as the root cause of the individuals struggle, the person unintentionally becomes aware that they’ve stumbled upon a great revelation and begin the process of paying the price in obtaining any further understanding on the topic. (We see this in the parable below, in which the man went and sold all that he has and bought the field where the stumbled upon a treasure hidden in a field) see below:

“The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field, which a man found [unintentionally] and buried. Then in his joy, he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field,” (Matt. 13:44)

The second way of discovery is someone has been made fully aware of this treasure (either by Divine direction or through another merchant) and they intentionally search for it like a merchant searching for costly pearls, this person spends the rest of their life, dedicating all energy and resources in actively searching for this particular pearl of great price, (in the parable below the merchant was actively looking for pearls and finds one of great price).

“Again, the kingdom of heaven is like a merchant in search [intentionally] of fine pearls, who, on finding one pearl of great value, went and sold all that he had and bought it,” (Matt. 13:45).

Notice how both parables were quoted one after the other in the book of Matthew, revealing that most great truths are discovered these two ways (stumbling and searching). The book of Proverbs also states in Proverbs 18:2 “it’s the glory of God to conceal a matter, but it’s the glory of kings to search the matter out” God highlights the topic of generational curses all throughout scripture to the person that would have ears to hear what the Spirit is saying, then expects them to continue to search out these clues until they solve a mystery of the kingdom.

“And He said unto them, ‘unto you it is given to know the mysteries of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables,'” (Mark 4:11).

A Christian can have an active generational curse operating in their life either through ignorance, inheritance or invitation. The work of redemption broke the power of the curse but did not eradicate its presence, just like the sacrifice of Jesus on the cross broke the power of sin but did not remove sin’s presence.

Pagani book coverThe Apostle John tells us that even after salvation, believers will have moments during their journey of sanctification that they will sin and not only will they be required to confess them and forsake them but to also cleanse themselves of all unrighteousness (1 John 1:7). That term “cleanse you from all unrighteousness” is talking about finding the root-cause of what is still giving sin its legal hold on a believer causing them to sin in that particular area.

Most believers overlook that part of the verse by only focusing on the “confess your sins” but its two-fold, we confess our sins but we also cleanse ourselves (break the curse; unrighteousness) of what’s making us sin. The great news about that verse is that not only will God remain Faithful and Just (which are courtroom terms) in forgiving sin but will also go a step further in helping us identify and cleanse us from the curse that empowers it. {eoa}
