Pastor Andy Stanley Affirms Biblical Marriage After ‘Controversial’ Conference

Following a whirlwind of controversy, speculation, support and accusations, Pastor Andy Stanley disclosed his stance on gay marriage to his congregation on Sunday, Oct. 1.

Stanley, pastor at the Atlanta-area megachurch, North Point Community Church, addressed the swirling rumors and assumptions that were being made in an untelevised sermon meant just for his church.

This is following a highly contentious and sensitive two-day seminar Stanley hosted for parents of LGBTQ children called the “Unconditional Conference.”

AG Pastors Call for Resignations Amid Sex Abuse Scandal

In a scandal rocking the Assemblies of God (AG) denomination, multiple pastors are now calling for the resignation of top denominational leaders. Their demand stems from what they perceive as a deeply flawed response to a sex abuse scandal that has cast a dark shadow over AG’s college ministry.

The heart of this troubling issue revolves around Daniel Savala, a long-serving volunteer teacher and mentor closely affiliated with Chi Alpha Campus Ministries, AG’s official college ministry. Savala faces grave accusations of rape and sexual assault, with at least 13 men connected to Chi Alpha alleging abuse spanning over two decades.

Adding to the gravity of the situation, Savala and his former protégé, Chris Hundl, were indicted this month for the sexual abuse of two minors. Hundl, an ordained AG minister, had previously held a leadership position within Baylor University’s Chi Alpha chapter.

Charisma News Brief: Fans Calling ‘Duck Dynasty’ Star ‘Woke’ After Disney Trip

“Duck Dynasty’s” Sadie Robertson Huff, daughter of Korie and Willie Robertson, has been called out by her fans as “woke” and saying she is “no longer a Christian” because she chose to take her family on a recent trip to Disney World in Florida.

Many have unfollowed Robertson Huff on social media because of the trip. And while she agrees that Disney is “corrupt” and does stand for things she disagrees with, she is urging Christians to stop engaging in “cancel culture” as many leftists and non-Christians have over the past few years.

On her “Whoa That’s Good Podcast,” Robertson Huff and her mother Korie warned that “cancel culture” is often “far too extreme.”

Charisma News Brief: Alleged ‘Holy Man’ Tries to Re-Create Daniel Miracle

A Nigerian who claims to be a “holy man” recently locked himself in a cage with three lions to illustrate God’s “divine protection” as in the biblical story of Daniel. But the story has twists, and a European media outlet claims that he is not a man of God at all.

In fact, as the BBC claims, the man is a zoo keeper, and, as a video that went viral across Africa shows, he did not in fact lock himself into a cage with three full-grown lions, but with three lion cubs. The video shows the man sticking his arm in one of the cubs’ mouth.

End Times Headlines wrote: “It appears as though the crazed man of cloth was recreating the biblical story of Daniel, who was thrown into a lion’s den and came out unscathed thanks to the hand of God.” {eoa}
