Trail Life CEO: Our Future Requires That Godly Men Step Up

Share:

Mark Hancock, CEO of Trail Life USA, has been declaring for many years that the lack of male mentors in our culture is affecting so many young boys in our country.

“Our future requires that men step up for the sake of not only their sons, but boys in their community,” Hancock said. “Any legitimate call to manhood must involve being a dad or dad-like to boys.”

According to the 2020 U.S. Census Bureau:

— 80% of single-parent families are headed by single mothers.

— One out of four children are living without any type of father figure

Additionally, the Justice Department website states: “The Journal of Research in Crime and Delinquency reports that the most reliable indicator of violent crime in a community is the proportion of fatherless families.”

Furthermore, recent research conducted shows an alarmingly high number (82%) of school shooters either didn’t grow up in a stable home with both biological parents or grew up without their parents together.

Hancock points to these statistics to show the growing need for godly men to model biblical masculinity to boys.

Trail Life USA is the premier national character development organization for young men, producing godly and responsible husbands, fathers, and citizens. Trail Life has grown to over 40,000 members in over 800 Troops across the country.
