In his new book, Focus on the Future: Your Family, Your Faith, and Your Voice Matter Now More Than Ever, Dr. Tim Clinton urges his readers to "rescue" the upcoming generation before they fall too far into "the abuse, pain, addictions, neglect, depression and lies of our age."

"I want to sound a trumpet call for an older generation of those who see the times clearly and know what they need to do, who are willing to armor up and engage the battle for the next generation," Clinton says.

In order to invest in the next generation, Clinton argues, readers must create meaningful relationships and bring young people up alongside themselves. The author claims that by doing so, the older generation is able to model biblical truths from a more personal level. "We must invest in the young, offering the relationships we are meant to provide in all the roles we play in their lives—parent, relative, friend, pastor, coach, teacher, church member, community member and model of noble manhood or womanhood," he says.

Investing in today's youth, according to Clinton, is not easy for the older generation. He argues that it's natural for a generation to be satisfied with their own personal goals and accomplishments and not be concerned about the future being left behind for the next generation. However, Clinton urges his readers not to fall into this trap. Clinton states, "A preoccupation with our own generation is the first enemy we face if we are going to stand guard for the next generation. It is a preference of our own time, prosperity and well-being over that of the next generation."

"The rescue of the next generation might seem overwhelming, but it is as simple as a return to the home, to relationships, and to loving mothers and fathers and the powerful impartation that loving families naturally produce in the young," Clinton concludes.

As the president of the American Association of Christian Counselors, Clinton is familiar with these issues as well as how to address them. In his new book, he reveals:

— How to promote and restore the marriage contract and the family unit.

— How to resist the forces determined to destroy biblical masculinity..

— How to lead and protect Millennials and Gen Z-ers from today's rampant temptations.
