God’s Law and Order: Mixing Church and State the Right Way

Who would have thought we would live to see the day in America when some governors and the mayors of some of our largest cities would be advocating for the abolition of the police? The answer to that question, is anyone who reads with discernment Isaiah 3-5.

In my latest podcast, I take a detailed look at what has been unfolding in our streets in America through the eyes of Isaiah. History has a way of repeating itself, and the results are always the same when God’s laws and truths are ignored, tragedy. America has committed the same sins that were being committed by the men of Judah in Isaiah’s day, and the results will be the same for America if Christians continue to sit back and do nothing.

There are nine specific sins listed in Isaiah 3 which lead to the death of a nation. We examine several in this podcast.

Isaiah 5:3-6a (KJV) poses a question of the inhabitants of Jerusalem:

“And now, O inhabitants of Jerusalem, and men of Judah, judge, I pray you, betwixt me and my vineyard. What could have been done more to my vineyard, that I have not done in it? wherefore, when I looked that it should bring forth grapes, brought it forth wild grapes? And now go to; I will tell you what I will do to my vineyard: I will take away the hedge thereof, and it shall be eaten up; and break down the wall thereof, and it shall be trodden down: And I will lay it waste.”

God asks the citizens of Judah, “What more could I have done for you?” He basically says, “I gave you my best, and you squandered it. I expected to find such bounty, but I found nothing but wild grapes”

Then comes the frightening verdict upon Judah; “I will take away the hedge … I will lay it waste!”

Please listen to my podcast today and get ready for the next as we look more fully at Isaiah 5.
