In a historic meeting Feb. 8, 2018 in Miami, Florida, the Empowered21 Caribbean Work Group adopted a three-year plan to bring the Caribbean Spirit-empowered community together to see lives changed through the power of the Holy Spirit.

“In many ways, this was a historic meeting regarding the future of the Spirit-empowered movement in the region,” said Elvis Medina, E21 Caribbean Cabinet Co-Chair and Overseer, Dominican Republic Church of God. “I’m excited to be a part of what God is doing, especially as we get ready for the end times by helping our people learn how to take the Holy Spirit to the streets.”

The three-year plan calls for regional meetings within the islands to allow people the opportunity to encounter the Holy Spirit, mentor next generation leaders, and host a significant contingency of believers and ministry leaders in the Holy Land during the Empowered21 Jerusalem 2020 Global Congress.

“The Empowered21 movement is about equipping the next generation of Spirit-empowered leaders,” said David Burrows, E21 Caribbean Cabinet Co-Chair and senior pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries International. “I am happy and thrilled to be a part of that process as together we work to build the future of the Caribbean.”

The meeting brought together leaders from Latin American and Caribbean communities including Ishmael Charles (E21 Caribbean Cabinet co-chair and Caribbean field director for the Church of God); David Burrows (E21 Caribbean Cabinet co-chair and senior pastor of Bahamas Faith Ministries International); Elvis Medina (E21 Caribbean Cabinet co-chair and overseer, Dominican Republic, Church of God); Carlton Crockwell (E21 Caribbean Cabinet administrator and chief operating officer at Security Associates Limited); Tony Encarnacion (E21 Caribbean Cabinet administrator and overseer of Curacao, Church of God); Assif Reid (E21 Caribbean Cabinet regional representative and Hobby Lobby Ministries coordinator) and Ossie Mills (E21 executive director).

“This new move of God has been divinely ordered by the Holy Spirit,” stated Ishmael Charles, E21 Caribbean Cabinet co-chair and Caribbean field director for the Church of God. “Even during the hurricanes in 2017 which caused much devastation, God truly has been with the Caribbean region, and for this we are so grateful. We look forward in working together in unity with senior pastor David Burrows and Bishop Elvis Medina as we enter into a new sovereignty paradigm shift in the region.”

The Caribbean leadership has attempted to meet for the past year and a half, but hurricanes and their aftermath have made that difficult until now. United in focus, the group adopted the historic three-year plan, outlining a path for new generations to experience the presence of the living God, and also voted to send financial aid and support to some of the areas impacted by the severe weather.
