Dangers continue to increase for Christians and Jews in Egypt. News reports are saying that the former head of the Muslim Brotherhood, now President of Egypt, Mohammed Morsi “participated in prayers over the weekend in which the preacher urged Allah to ‘destroy the Jews and their supporters.’”

This prayer service was broadcast on state-run television in Egypt on Friday. The Anti-Defamation League confirmed that Morsi himself could be plainly seen “mouthing ‘amen.’”

The anti-Semitic prayer included implicit attacks on Christians, Americans, and other “supporters” of Israel. The Cleric stated:

Oh Allah, absolve us of our sins, strengthen us, and grant us victory over the infidels. Oh Allah, destroy the Jews and their supporters. Oh Allah, disperse them, rend them asunder. Oh Allah, demonstrate Your might and greatness upon them. Show us Your omnipotence, oh Lord.

It has also been reported that an early draft of Egypt’s new constitution provides that “the principles of Islamic Shari’a are the main source of legislation”–a stated goal of the new political head of the Muslim Brotherhood. This only further stokes growing fears of the rise of a new radical Islamic power in the Middle East.
