With a chief rival alleging he’s in favor of “legalizing” illegal immigrants in the U.S., presidential candidate Sen. Ted Cruz (R-Texas) released a new TV ad Friday that has begun airing in Iowa.

The 30-second ad, titled “Win,” highlights Cruz’ “proven record of opposing amnesty, fighting to secure our borders, and protecting Americans at home and abroad,” his campaign said in a statement that followed the ad’s release. The ad contains a pledge to secure U.S. borders and to destroy ISIS.

“Securing our borders and stopping illegal immigration is a matter of national security. That’s why I fought so hard to defeat President Obama and the Republican establishment’s Gang of Eight amnesty plan,” he said. “Their misguided plan would have given Obama the authority to admit Syrian refugees, including ISIS terrorists. That’s just wrong.”

Cruz added: “When it comes to radical Islamic terrorism I think we need to rediscover Ronald Reagan’s strategy: We win, they lose.”
