Cecil the Lion and the Absurdity of Secularism

In the past several weeks, the headlines have been flooded with denunciations of hunter Walter Palmer who illegally killed Cecil the Lion. While I was also aghast at the dastardly deed done against Cecil, I was more upset over the fact that the mainstream media was not giving the proper attention to the videos that revealed Planned Parenthood’s pernicious profit from the sale of aborted human babies! It seems as though the progressive liberal media is purposely ignoring the Planned Parenthood scandal, since it exposes the horrible underworld of the abortion industry. Evidently, these secularists are far more concerned with the life of one lion than the murder for profit of hundreds of thousands of innocent human lives! Furthermore, these two stories came on the heels of two other stories that made headlines, which further feed my present narrative regarding the absurdity of the secular worldview. Several weeks ago, a white lady by the name of Rachel Dolezal was being vilified for making believe she was black while serving as a leader with the NAACP. While around the same time formerolympic gold medalist Bruce Jenner was celebrated by the secular world for transforming himself into a woman! As far as I know, Jenner (who refers to himself now as Caitlyn), has never had a sex change operation. Thus, he still has the anatomy to procreate as a man! Not only that, Jenner also claims he is not gay because he has never been with a man! So, let me get this straight: he is not a man even though he still has male genitalia. He is now recognized as a woman and renamed himself Caitlyn, but he is not gay. Does that make him a lesbian? He cannot have it both ways. (No pun intended.) If I sound confused by this method of logic you are correct! So, in summary, Jenner is celebrated as a woman even though he is not physiologically one, but Rachel Dolezal is vilified and called out as a phony for making believe she is a black. (Even though she considers herself black on the inside, which is psychological, the same kind of argument Jenner utilizes.) In the aforementioned cases of Cecil and Planned Parenthood, progressive pro-abortion secularists elevate a member of the animal kingdom more than the “slaughter for profit” of their own ilk, which is “self” (or human) “hatred” (perhaps humaniphobia?) and there is a clear double standard when we juxtapose the narratives of Rachel Dolezal and Bruce Jenner. How can we explain this illogical celebration of contradictions and gross absurdity? Simply put, without a biblical worldview there is no coherent framework in which to interpret reality. Without biblical boundaries we violate our innate laws of logic, as well as natural law, and are all over the map regarding epistemology. Without the correct interpretive grid, humanity is lost in some sort of postmodern soup without a bowl to frame it or contain it. In the case of Jenner, the world has rejected physiology and replaced it with psychology. With this faulty logic, if Jenner can be celebrated as a woman because of how he feels, then what’s to stop someone from attempting to step onto an NBA basketball court because they feel like they are Michael Jordan? Of course, such a hopeful NBA player probably doesn’t have the physical tools to play on an NBA level, but neither does Jenner have the physical anatomy to comport with his version of reality! I believe the absurdity of the secularist worldview grants the church a huge apologetic opportunity to reach young people who are getting sick and tired of politically correct trends that fly in the face of commonsense. Truly, we are now witnessing the secular worldview collapsing under the weight of its own foolishness. It is only a matter of time before multitudes realize this and flock back to Bible-believing churches that preach the truth without compromise.
