A video depicting a Marine and soldier taking an American flag from two protesters in Albuquerque, N.M., has gone viral.

The video shows two protesters, who were reportedly demonstrating over police shooting and killing a homeless man, riding on a motorized scooter and carrying the American flag upside down. Two men, one wearing a U.S. Marines T-shirt and the other wearing an Army tee, run after the protesters and take the flag.

Some have called the men heroes for demanding respect of the U.S. flag, but critics say they hindered the protesters’ free-speech rights.

The men have not been identified or confirmed as active or former military, and it is unclear when the video was filmed. Warning: This video contains strong language.
