The prayer movement continues to gain momentum as TheCall makes its way to Detroit next month. Thousands will gather to fast and pray—daring to believe America could turn back to God—on Nov. 11-12.

With TheCall Detroit, believers will gather to a city that has become a microcosm of our national crisis—economic collapse, racial tension, the rising tide of the Islamic movement, and the shedding of innocent blood of our children in the streets and of our unborn.

A vision of Lou Engle, part of the leadership team at the International House of Prayer (IHOP) in Kansas City, Mo., TheCall has gathered hundreds of thousands to stadiums across America for prayer, fasting, repentance and sacrificial worship for 10 years.

“1999 January, I was crying to God, ‘How can I turn America back to you?’ And a woman came to me. She said, ‘You don’t know who I am, but the Lord spoke to me. You are going to start something with the youth of America in prayer that is going to change the destiny of the nation.’ She said, ‘I will give you $100,000 to start it.’ It launched a supernatural series of events that I felt like I was being carried along by the Lord and the Lord spoke to my heart, ‘Call the youth of America to fast and pray.’”

One of the distinctions that sets TheCall apart from other Christian gatherings is that there are no band advertisements and no speaker promotions. Engle is out to exalt the Lord and Him alone.

Have you been to one of Engle’s events?
