For years pastors and leaders in the church have tried to understand why younger generations were steadily declining when it came to joining a local church. It became evident that man’s strategies were no longer working to save the lost. But—a new study from Barna Group indicates a new era in millennial church attendance.

From 2019 to 2022 research shows Millennial attendance has gone from 21% to 39%. Could this be the start of a nationwide revival?

In an exclusive Charisma News interview, GMA Dove Award Artist of the Year Winner, CeCe Winans shares with the body of Christ three reasons why they need to attend church and build up the next generation. Her song ‘Believe for It’ won Song of the Year and is also the name of her new book coming out encouraging Christians to pass on faith to the next generation.

Here are three reasons why attending church is important for your spiritual health and the body of Christ:

  • Church isn’t about checking off a box. “Go to the house of God to do what the house of God is prepared for us to do,” said Winans. You are called to be a part of prayer, miracles and discipleship at your local church.
  • Our worldly strategies aren’t winning the world. The Bible says that it isn’t by our might or power, but by the Spirit of God. God is serious about His house and His temple. The Bible says to gather all the more as you see the day approaching. It’s clear we are entering into a dark time in the world and now more than ever the church needs to gather together.
  • “People are literally dying and they need to see the light that is in each one of us,” Winans explained. As you stay plugged into the body of Christ your light shines the brightest. Fellowship with other believer’s is essential.

In the book of Acts is talks about how the multitude who believed gathered together in one heart and one soul with all things in common. As they came together the Bible says great grace was upon them all and they none among them lacked anything. {eoa}
