Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California, played host to thousands of heavenly occurrences the weekend of Nov. 5-6.

The Lord showed up in amazing fashion at Pastor Greg Laurie’s SoCal Harvest event.

With almost 50,000 people in attendance, over 8,600 gave their lives to Jesus Christ and made Him their Savior and Lord.

The Christian Post reported that over 160,000 people tuned in online, and the event also was broadcast across approximately 600 social media pages and radio stations.

The event featured a phenomenal lineup of musicians to usher in the Lord’s presence. The list of performers included Jeremy Camp, Phil Wickham, the Newsboys, Andy Mineo and Crowder.

Laurie preached a message that pointed the cause of change in his life right back toward God’s amazing love and power:

“God changed the course of my life, and He can do that for you,” Laurie says.

The message Laurie wanted to get across to the hundreds of thousands who were listening was clear: Jesus Christ is the only hope that this world has.

“My hope tonight is not in politicians or world leaders. It’s not in technology, money or possessions. It’s not even in religion,” Lauries says. “What we are all looking for is not something you hold in your hand. It’s something that happens in your heart in a relationship with God through Jesus Christ.”

This year’s theme for the event was “Jesus Revolution,” based on the movement in the 1960s and 70s that influenced Laurie himself and is the basis of an upcoming film by the same name.

“I am honored to have such a talented, venerated cast and crew tell this story that is so near to my heart and changed my life and our country for eternity,” he said.

“The Jesus Movement was the last great American spiritual awakening. Some historians have said it was the greatest revival of all time. Now, I’m praying for another in our time.”

SoCal Harvest released a statement highlighting the importance the Jesus Movement had in Southern California all those years ago:

“It was revolutionary. Out of that movement, countless churches were born and so many people found salvation in Christ. With all the division, conflict and wickedness in our world today, we’re praying for God to send another Jesus Revolution, and we’re hoping that the SoCal Harvest will be part of a great work of revival that God does both locally and worldwide.”

SoCal Harvest was created in 1990 by Pastors Laurie and Chuck Smith, founder of Calvary Chapel.{eoa}
