Conservative Commentator: The Rightful Owners of America—We the People—Must Act Now

Dr. Jim Garlow (born in 1947) did his doctorate in history at Drew University, earned his Master of Theology and his Master of Divinity degrees from Princeton Theological Seminary and Asbury Theological Seminary, respectively, and was awarded bachelor and master’s degrees from Southern Nazarene University.

In a recent meeting with national clergy leaders, he informed his audience that he simply wanted “to do a clarification, a subpoint;” one that was not all that critically important.

“A friend of mine lost a lot of weight and she became a runner,” he said. “Many people criticized her for being so gaunt and thin; she finally looked at them and said, ‘You’ve just never seen healthy.'”

The Danger of Creating a God and a Gospel in Our Own Image

The essence of idolatry is that we create a god in our image, confusing His nature with ours and thereby conforming Him to our standards. This, in turn, creates a vicious cycle in which we continue to degenerate spiritually and morally as we become like the lifeless idols we create.

As expressed in the Psalms, “Why do the nations say, ‘Where is their God?’ Our God is in heaven; he does whatever pleases him. But their idols are silver and gold, made by human hands. They have mouths, but cannot speak, eyes, but cannot see. They have ears, but cannot hear, noses, but cannot smell. They have hands, but cannot feel, feet, but cannot walk, nor can they utter a sound with their throats. Those who make them will be like them, and so will all who trust in them” (Ps. 115:2–8, NIV).

We can do the very same thing with the gospel, lowering it to our standards, thereby creating a new, non-offensive, non-troublesome Jesus who bears little resemblance to the Jesus of the Scriptures.

Retired Pentecostal Pastor: ‘We’re Not Dealing with Mickey Anymore’

Florida’s legislature and governor recently passed and approved the Parental Rights in Education act, which will prohibit classroom instruction of sexual orientation and gender identity in grades kindergarten through third.

When Floridians read or hear the actual wording of the simple bill (that never even uses the word “gay”), they have indicated support for it 2 to 1, acknowledging parents’ right to protect their young children from unnecessary exposure to such sensitive and sensational concerns.

But leftist progressives and “woke” iconoclasts conveniently ignore the limited scope of this legislation and protest it as a free speech issue for adults. Others, including Disney’s corporate president Karey Burke, want young children (who still have their baby teeth!) to be instructed in sexualized content that most affected parents resist and renounce as vastly inappropriate for these young ages. {eoa}
