‘Walking Miracle’ Shares Story of How Satan Tried to Silence Her in Every Way Possible

Scripture tells us the devil is a liar. But he’s also an adversary, one who comes against us to steal, kill and destroy.

Marion Grace has experienced all of those aspects of the enemy’s work, but today, she walks in supernatural victory. She shares the story of the “perfect storm of destruction” she faced—and how she overcame it—in her new book, Your Greatest Life: Overcoming Depression, Divorce and Critical Illness, and with Dr. Steve Greene on a recent episode of the Greenelines podcast on the Charisma Podcast Network.

In her own story, Grace says, “the villain is the enemy; his MO is to steal, to kill and to destroy. And that is what he did to me for so long. I always say, ‘God, why is the devil trying to kill me in every way possible?'”

Satan “tried to steal my marriage and my peace by constant strife and stress,” she says. In addition, “He tried to destroy me with depression for 10 years—severe depression. And then if that wasn’t enough, to top it all off, he tried to kill me with stage 4, terminal cancer.”

Grace says she’s a “walking miracle” who “shouldn’t be alive.”

When she first found out she had terminal cancer, she was in the hospital, far from the Lord. “I was a mess,” she says. “I was angry with God; I was angry with the world. I was angry with everyone. And when you live in anger, you get sick. We’re not designed to carry anger.”

But Grace wasn’t afraid. Although she wasn’t walking with Him, she knew the Lord. “So when I was in that wheelchair and heard those words [“terminal cancer”] seriously, I didn’t fear,” she says. “I didn’t cry. All I could describe it as is just a pit bull rising up on the inside, a download of such strength and faith. And I don’t even know why—it was God. Just God. Because why would I respond that way? The mess I was in, but I had put it in for years before, and it just rose up in me, and inside I just screamed, “No. I am not dying. I’m not. I am not dying. You are not taking me out!”

Today, she is cancer-free. She says she wants to continue talking about “the issues no one talks about” as Christians and giving people the keys to victory that God has given her. She intends to silence Satan out the same way he tried to silence her.

“I’m not going to be silenced,” Grace declared to the enemy. “You tried to kill me; you did it in every way. I should be dead, by all intents and purposes. So I am just going to get up. I’m going to write; I’m going to speak; I’m going to do everything I can to tear you down the way you tried to tear me down.”
