Major social media platforms may have banned former President Donald Trump, but that hasn’t stopped him from speaking out on topics he considers essential. Late Sunday after U.S. Homeland Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas declared, “The border is closed,” Trump responded with a statement from his 45 Office email account, saying Biden’s mishandling of the border crisis has turned “a national triumph into a national disaster.”

After Mayorkas appeared on Sunday-morning news shows on CNN, NBC and Fox to defend the Biden administration’s immigration policies, Trump released the following statement:

We proudly handed the Biden Administration the most secure border in history. All they had to do was keep this smooth-running system on autopilot. Instead, in the span of a just few weeks, the Biden Administration has turned a national triumph into a national disaster. They are in way over their heads and taking on water fast.

The pathetic, clueless performance of Secretary Mayorkas on the Sunday Shows today was a national disgrace. His self-satisfied presentation—in the middle of the massive crisis he helped engineer—is yet more proof he is incapable of leading DHS. Even someone of Mayorkas’ limited abilities should understand that if you provide Catch-and-Release to the world’s illegal aliens then the whole world will come.

Furthermore, the Mayorkas Gag Order on our Nation’s heroic border agents and ICE officers should be the subject of an immediate congressional investigation. But it’s clear they are engaged in a huge cover-up to hide just how bad things truly are. The only way to end the Biden Border Crisis is for them to admit their total failure and adopt the profoundly effective, proven Trump policies.

In his Sunday comments, Mayorkas placed blame for the border crisis solely at the feet of the Trump administration: “There was a system in place in both Republican and Democratic administrations that was torn down during the Trump administration, and that is why the challenge is more acute than it ever has been before,” he said on CNN’s State of the Union.

Biden told reporters Sunday that he intends to travel to the border “at some point.”

Both Republicans and Democrats have criticized the conditions in Customs and Border Protection facilities, where record numbers of children are currently being held and news access has been denied. Mayorkas blamed the lack of media access on the COVID-19 pandemic, saying, “Border Patrol agents are focused on operations, on securing the border, on addressing the needs of vulnerable children. We are not focused on ride-along right now.” {eoa}
