The Reeves served as volunteers, then staff pastors for 25 years at Faith Community Church in West Covina, California, a megachurch founded by Pastor Bob Reeve’s brother, Dr. Jim Reeve, and his wife, Marguerite, before God led them to plant The Cause. They began the church in January of 2005 at the Edwards Theater in downtown Brea, per the church website. “Today, The Cause has regular involvement of over 1,500 people, a broad spectrum of ministries and a wonderful facility,” the site also says.

Yesterday, The Cause shared a prophetic declaration from its late pastor, which also appears on the church website, on its Facebook page:

Reeve, who was hospitalized Feb. 3 with pneumonia, was placed on a ventilator Feb. 17. Throughout the ordeal, his congregation and other prayed fervently for his recovery, with many posting on the church’s Facebook page during this time. In response to the announcement of his death, many shared their thoughts and prayers.

Myrh Lee Saria Nierras wrote, “My heart is heavy for the entire Reeve family. Pastor Bob was a genuine man of God who deeply loved people. I saw his heart for God firsthand at Faith [Community] Church and then at The Cause. He was an awesome leader and teacher! May God comfort and give you – Sherry and family – His peace that passes all understanding. Sending virtual hugs and love to you all.”

Isabella Hernandez also commented, “So honored to have known Pastor Bob!! He touched my heart and imparted so much wisdom that will stay within me forever. Praying for the Reeve family, for peace in knowing that he is now with our Heavenly Father.”

Steph Roldan-Helton shared her personal thoughts: “I grew up watching you and your whole family be a shining example for all of us at FCC before you all left to form The Cause. Your children, and grandchildren, are who they are because of you. You shared your love and faith in everything you did and for that I am forever grateful. You will be greatly missed Pastor Bob.”

And an international note came from Pastor David Proenza: “I had the honor of meeting Pastor Bob, a great man of God. God strengthen your family in this difficult time. From Cuba, PASTOR DAVID PROENZA.”

Pastor Bob Reeve is survived by his wife, Pastor Sherry Reeve; his sons, John and Joshua, who also serve as pastors at The Cause; his daughter, Shannon; his children’s spouses; and eight grandchildren.

Please join the Charisma News staff in praying for Pastor Reeves’ family; for his church, The Cause; and for the many whose lives he touched. {eoa}
