Pastor Samuel Rodriguez, President of the National Hispanic Christian Leadership Conference and a champion of legal immigration, says the Biden administration’s open border policy is the worst he has seen in the last 20 years and that it has only one purpose for Democrats.
“It’s all about power,” Rodriguez said in an exclusive interview with Charisma News. “They believe that these people, who are entering the country illegally by the way, are Democratic voters. They are openly recruiting these people who are crossing over, and it’s one massive recruitment effort for the Democrats. They don’t care about these people who are seeking a better life, they are just using them.
“It’s a slap in the face to the sovereignty of our nation. The left is obsessed with the Ukranian border situation and is totally ignoring the disaster that is happening at our own border.”
The overriding feeling around the country and in the media is that Biden, because of his inefficiency as President of the United States in 2021, has weakened the Democratic party and that it may very well lose control of both the Senate and the House of Representatives come November when the mid-term elections take place.
Rodriguez says the open border policy is not the attitude then-presidential candidate Joe Biden campaigned on in 2020.
“During the election, Biden said that we don’t want them to come in here, with a defacto nod and a wink,” Rodriguez says. “The idea was simply to let only women and children in, and that is an explicit lie. They have allowed single males between 15 and 40 come in. They are letting gang members come in and nefarious criminals.
“As a Latino myself, I am totally in favor of legal immigration. We’ve been working on this issue for 20 years through three different administrations—George W. Bush, Barack Obama and Donald Trump. But we’ve never been down this road before. It’s the worst scenario I’ve seen during that time. It’s not hype or rhetoric. The number of individuals crossing over the border is unprecedented, and it’s dangerous.”
The NHCLC has advised Bush, Obama and Trump on the immigration issue and has attempted to do the same with the Biden administration. But Rodriguez says the advice of the NHCLC is simply falling upon deaf ears.
“The administration is myopic; they simply don’t listen,” Rodriguez says. “It’s a different world. At least Barack Obama would listen to us on this issue, and he was not a radical on immigration. But this administration is much, much different. It is fully committed to advancing progressive, radical, left, socialist/communist ideology.
“This is not classic liberalism. This is not first-term Barack Obama, not JFK nor is it Jimmy Carter. We’ve seen this before. This is so liberal that the president of France ahs stated that America’s progressive woke cancel culture is even too radical for them. It’s pretty bad when Europe is telling us that we’re too left and that we have issues.
“The left is saying that we want you wearing masks, we want you vaccinated and we should obey the law. Yet, they’re allowing millions to break the law with this open border policy. That’s the hypocrisy we face, the lack of logic and the lack of coherence. According to our statistics, a huge majority of Latinos in this country are not in favor of open borders. And, the left is losing their support.” {eoa}
