Today the Best Christian Workplaces Institute (BCWI) honors 87 faith-based organizations as Certified Best Christian Workplaces for 2018.
These organizations met the certification standard determined by exemplary ratings of their employees who completed BCWI's groundbreaking Employee Engagement Survey from January to July 2018. All 87 organizations evaluate their workplaces based on BCWI's proprietary "FLOURISH Model": fantastic teams, life-giving work, outstanding talent, uplifting growth, rewarding compensation, inspirational leadership, sustainable strategy and healthy communication.
The news of these new BCWI-certified honorees comes with two significant findings:
Flourishing organizational culture enables the retention of top talent, high productivity, growth and impact. "Christian leaders say that making gains in workplace culture enables them to have the spiritual, relational and organizational glue to face their challenges as a team," says BCWI President Al Lopus. "We have seen numerous organizations mired in the quicksand of a bad culture take action and flip to a healthy culture for the benefit of their employees, families, communities and those they serve. As a result, they build a talent pipeline because of the reputation a flourishing workplace culture can provide, especially in this tight labor market."
Overall, 64 percent were certified out of 136 organizations surveyed this year. BCWI is pleased that this percentage continues to improve, indicating an increase in the health of the culture levels in Christian organizations overall. As a pioneer in equipping and inspiring Christian leaders to build flourishing workplaces, BCWI's Employee Engagement Survey has been completed by more than 300,000 employees from over 950 faith-based nonprofits, churches and Christian-owned businesses in the U.S., Australia, Africa, Asia, Canada, Europe and Central America.
