Promise Keepers App Encourages Men to Trust God in Marriage, Faith

Since its inception in the 1990s, the men’s ministry founded by football coach Bill McCartney has existed to encourage biblical strength in Spirit-led husbands, brothers and sons. Promise Keepers held its first virtual event in late summer 2020 amid COVID restrictions. Now the annual Men’s Marriage Summit has partnered with the new Promise Keepers app to further support the ministry’s commitment to building strong marriages and families through love, protection and biblical values.

In the current 3-Week Marriage Challenge, men can use the app to connect with like-minded individuals, spurring others on to Christlike behaviors in their homes.

The Virtual Marriage Summit, at which well-known Christian worship artist Michael W. Smith performed, is available on demand on Facebook and YouTube.

Smith sang “Surrounded (Fight My Battles),” with a dominant theme of holding onto the power found in Jesus’ finished work on the cross in the midst of difficulty.

As the traditional family and marriage structure continues to be attacked, the need for men to find their strength in the Lord is as essential as ever. And the song’s lyrics remind listeners that the ability and responsibility to fight for their marriages and to embody the character of Christ can be done, even when it seems there is no way. Not only will they see God “do it again,” but He will remind them that prayer enables them to fight their battles in the power and presence of the Lord.
