All eyes were on the Buffalo Bills, Cincinnati Bengals game Monday night after Bills safety Damar Hamlin collapsed on the field. Fans and viewers around the world were shocked when he suffered a cardiac arrest during the game. Now, people are unifying across the nation in prayer for Hamlin and his family.

“He was transferred to the UC Medical Center for further testing and treatment. He is currently sedated and listed in critical condition,” The Bills posted on Twitter. The collapse happened after Bengals quarterback Joe Burrow threw a pass to Tee Higgins and Hamlin rushed over to tackle.

Following the heartbreaking incident he was taken in an ambulance to the hospital. The NFL released a statement saying their “thoughts and prayers are with Damar, his family and the Buffalo Bills.” The NFL also announcing they are postponing the game.

Jordon Rooney, Hamlin’s marketing representative posted on Twitter that, “His vitals are back to normal and they have put him to sleep to put a breathing tube down his throat. They are currently running tests. We will provide updates as we have them.”

The Bills huddled together as a team with head coach Sean McDermott leading the team in a time of prayer.

Posts flooded Twitter’s Explore page with pastors, football players and commentators declaring healing in the name of Jesus. Pastor Tony Evans shared his support and said he is “joining with so many others at this time to pray for Damar Hamlin’s full recovery.” He says he is also asking the Lord for “comfort and strength to be given to Damar’s family, coaches and teammates.”

Sean Feucht posted, “The players praying on the field was a powerful sign. Healing in Jesus name.”

Tim Tebow also used his platform to ask for people to join him in prayer for Hamlin.

In a time where America is fighting the pains of division and hatred, the ability for people to come together and unite around eternal hope is miraculous. Pray that Damar Hamlin would have a quick recovery in Jesus name and that his family would encounter the peace and comfort of the Lord.

In these moments it’s important to remember the power of love and unity. 2 Corinthians 13:11 says, “Finally, brothers, farewell. Be perfect, be of good comfort, be of one mind and live in peace, and the God of love and peace will be with you.” {eoa}
