President Trump: ‘Our Country Is Blessed by God and Has a Special Role’

“I am free, hallelujah!” was the greeting from Alice Johnson, celebrating her pardon by the president after 22 years of prison and the passage of the “First Step Act,” which provides help for those released from prison to have a second chance.

Franklin Graham led the opening prayer with powerful words, “Our Father which art in heaven, great bounty bestowed on this nation and so many blessings these four years for which we are forever grateful. Our country is facing trouble, and we need Your help. We need to hear Your voice at this crucial hour.

“We ask that You would unite our hearts to be one nation under God, for You are our only hope. We declare today our total dependence on You and our need for repentance as a people. I thank You for our president and ask that You would give him wisdom from on high. Bless him, our President Donald J. Trump. Bless him. Father, we know You can make this nation great once again if we turn our eyes and hearts to You and fellow Your Word in obedience. May Your will be done on this earth. We pray this in the mighty name of your Son, my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, amen.”

Rudy Giuliani spoke of his sadness at watching the New York City he had turned around descend into chaos. Carl and Marsha Mueller told the heartbreaking story of how ISIS brutally abused their daughter, Kayla, in Syria and how the previous presidential administration refused to help her.

Ja’Ron Smith explained how President Trump had given him a chance to shine at the White House. Speaker after speaker relayed simple messages of hope, the greatness of an America that loves and serves the Lord Jesus Christ and how His transforming power was the force that gave them the hope to overcome.

It was President Trump himself who conveyed a vision of hope and blessing with the following words:

[We are] brimming with confidence in the bright future we will build for America over the next four years. In the depths of the bloody Civil War, President Abraham Lincoln looked out these very windows upon a half-completed Washington Monument and asked God in His providence to save our union.

They knew that our country is blessed by God and has a special role. It is that conviction that inspired the formation of our union and the overthrow of tyranny and communism.

And this election will decide whether we will defend the American way of life or whether we will allow a radical movement to completely dismantle and destroy it.

Those pioneers didn’t have money, they didn’t have fame—but they had each other. They loved their families, they loved their county and they loved their God and when opportunity beckoned, they picked up their Bibles, packed up their belongs, climbed into a covered wagon and set out West. … And on Nov. 3, we will make America safer; we will make America stronger; we will make America prouder; and we will make America greater than ever before. God bless America.

“So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will spit you out of My mouth” (Rev. 3:16).

Stephen Strang, bestselling author of God, Trump and COVID-19 put its starkly in his book, “God raised up this man to lead our nation, and I believe Donald Trump will win a second term to compete the work he started— because I believe God has spoken.” {eoa}
