The ‘Divine Ruination’ That Forced This Man to Fight Against One of Today’s Most Prominent Evils

Raleigh Sadler calls it a “divine ruination.”

He was at the Passion Conference when Christine Caine’s sermon opened his eyes to one of today’s most prominent evils—human trafficking and the exploitation of others.

“And it hit me that I wanted to be part of the solution to human trafficking,” Sadler says. The founder and executive director of Let My People Go spoke with Charisma News for “The Truth About Human Trafficking” podcast series.

Sadler is also the author of Vulnerable: Rethinking Human Trafficking.

“I hadn’t realized I was part of the problem. And so each of us, regardless of who we are, where we’re from, we create a demand for the exploitation of others. We kind of invest in an atmosphere of exploitation.”

Whether it’s through food eaten, clothes worn, entertainment consumed or pornography watched, each person has played a role in the exploitation of another, Sadler says.

“We know that some of these things are very, very sinful, but we don’t think about how our vertical sin overflows horizontally,” Sadler says. “We don’t think about how our sin against God has social ramifications. And for me, I’m just sitting there in the nosebleed section of the Philips Arena, broken and just falling under conviction, realizing that I’m part of the problem, and I just repented.”

Listen to the podcast below to hear how Sadler turned that conviction into action.
