In its nearly 75 years of existence, the National Religious Broadcasters (NRB) has come full circle, says Dr. Jerry Johnson, the organization's president and CEO.

"It's fascinating because NRB began in the 1940s because Christian teachers and preachers were taken off the air," Johnson told Dr. Steve Greene on a recent edition of "Greenelines" on the Charisma Podcast Network. "Most people don't know this story. ... those teachers and preachers got together and said, 'Let's get back on the air. Let's form an association. Let's go to Washington. Let's appeal to Congress and the administration and let's get back on the air.' And they did, within two or three years."

And the need for NRB's watchdog function still exists, Johnson says. "What we're finding is that conservative and Christian content is being deliberately censored. They are shadow banning; they're ghosting; they're also manipulating search results. We have a project at NRB called Internet Freedom Watch, and that will show you that this isn't a hoax.

"Congressman Jerry Nadler said, 'Oh, there's no censorship of conservative and Christian content.' You look at this, and you will see. Beginning with Chuck Colson in 2010, the Manhattan Declaration, all the way up. Franklin Graham, just three or four weeks ago. It's happening."

NRB will celebrate its 75th anniversary at Proclaim 19, March 26-29 in Anaheim, California, with a huge lineup of top-name speakers including the Benham Brothers, Greg Laurie and Priscilla Shirer along with previews of films such as the controversial Roe v. Wade, Unplanned, Overcomer and Breakthrough.

Proclaim 19 will also include sessions with First-Amendment experts Kelly Shackleford and Brad Baker to discuss the ongoing liberal threats to the Constitution and issues including freedom of speech, freedom of religion and freedom of the press.
