Prominent pastor Cary Gordon is behind a new documentary that aims to expose Enemies Within: The Church.
Enemies Within: The Church is going to produce the evidence, expose the false teachers and the underlying agenda to undermine the influence of Christ across the world,” according to the documentary site.
Gordon, the pastor of Cornerstone World Outreach in Sioux City, Iowa, spoke to Janet Mefferd on the “Janet Mefferd Today” podcast all about the documentary.
“The biggest error is systemic, and it’s deep, and it’s theological, but its biggest symptom, it’s most notable symptom is right now that’s really the tip of the spear on threatening the nation, the future of our Western civilization, not just America, but really any kind of Constitutional-style rule of law styled government in the world is threatened by this, and it is what is called the social gospel,” Gordon says.
The social gospel essentially takes socialist, communist or Marxist-based ideas of economics and wraps them up in Christian terms about compassion for the downtrodden, Gordon says.
Gordon says this idea was concocted by an atheist and has infiltrated Christianity.
“It’s a complete and total misrepresentation of what the Bible teaches,” Gordon says.
The Bible says people have value because they are created in the image of God, whereas socialism says a person has no intrinsic value outside of a collective group.
“When you take these fundamental principles, turn them upside down, hijack Christianity, label things that are ultimately deadly as supposedly the gospel … You can lie and you can get away with it,” Gordon says.
Gordon’s documentary team includes producer Trevor Loudon, director Juss Saul and producer Curtis Bowers.
The documentary site says it will debut in spring 2019 and will expose, name the names and organizations of whom are at work to undermine the Christian Church and destroy its foundations.
