Terrorism Expert: Is Freedom of Speech a Thing of the Past?

Another member of corporate America has bowed to the demands of the discredited Southern Poverty Law Center.

According to the Los Angeles Times, Hyatt Hotels Corp., one of the nation's largest hotel companies, "announced it will no longer host hate groups at its nearly 800 properties, a move that was praised by a Muslim advocacy group."

New York Times best-selling author and terrorism expert Brigitte Gabriel's ACT for America conference was held at the Hyatt earlier this month and was met with opposition. Gabriel's new book, Rise: In Defense of Judeo-Christian Values and Freedom, was released Sept. 11 and includes chapters titled "The Death of Free Speech" and "The Business of Fake Hate"—both extremely timely—and touching on these very topics.

Gabriel says she hopes the Hyatt will stay true to its word and prohibit business with actual hate groups, and that ACT for America, the largest national security grassroots organization in the U.S., is far from a "hate group."

"As an organization that has always included and embraced members from all walks of life, regardless of race, religion or political affiliation, ACT for America welcomes the decision by Hyatt hotels to exclude hate groups from hosting events on its premises," Gabriel said. "Founded by an Arab-speaking, Lebanese immigrant, ACT for America prides itself on its diversity of speakers across religious and ethnic backgrounds during our annual national conferences and leadership roles within the organization itself. Recent speakers at our national conferences have included Muslims, Jews, Christians and atheists—all united under the same cause of freedom and the protection of Western civilization.

"We trust that the decision to exclude hate groups by Hyatt will be one which is exercised not based on baseless political smears from partisan radicals such as the hateful Southern Poverty Law Center, but objectivity and facts," she continued. "For example, ACT for America is optimistic that in light of Hyatt's recent statement, groups that have been officially designated as terrorist organizations by our allies, such the Council on American-Islamic Relations, as well as those with a notorious and explicit history of anti-Semitism, again, including groups like CAIR or ISNA, will no longer be welcome at Hyatt hotels.

"ACT for America is about uniting patriots from all walks of life under the same flag of freedom and celebrating the values which make this country great, not the least of which includes freedom of speech," Gabriel concluded. "As a private organization, ACT for America respects Hyatt's right to decision regarding what is best for its company and its stockholders. Freedom to choose is part of what makes America the greatest country in the history of the world. Hyatt has a right to choose whom they exclude from their hotels, which we hope will be rooted in facts rather than rhetoric. In turn, consumers have a right to choose where they give their business. Freedom is a beautiful thing, and contrary to some organizations that feel they have a right to bully and intimidate private companies into submitting to their political will, ACT for America chooses to celebrate that freedom rather than condemn it."

Rise arms readers with real data and compelling facts that will equip them to fight the efforts of America's enemies to undermine the nation at every level of society. Gabriel's third book—and first in a decade—also motivates readers to unite with other patriots who wish to preserve America's endangered Judeo-Christian values and freedom.

In Rise, Gabriel sends her most hard-hitting, explosive message yet. It's not only a warning but also a rallying cry to unite Americans of all backgrounds in a fight for the survival of the nation, the protection of the Judeo-Christian values upon which it was built and the preservation of the freedoms on which future generations depend.
