Greg Laurie did not say North Korea would wipe out the United States in a nuclear war.

The evangelist, who often offers end-times insights, says he was misquoted in an Express UK article.

Laurie set the record straight on Facebook

Fake News Alert!
I never said "US to be wiped out by North Korea in nuclear war."
I said North Korea COULD attack us,and of course that is potentially true, at least at this moment.
The Bible does not mention the USA or North Korea in the end times scenario.I am simply calling believers to pray and take this all seriously.
I never said "The prophecy was revealed to me after I read the Bible."
If you listen to my message in this link, it's clear what I said.
This was a totally misleading headline.

Previously, Laurie told Faithwire's Billy Hallowell: "North Korea—this is a big thing. I don't think people understand. This is no joke," Laurie said. "This dictator has the power now to deliver nuclear weapons. For a number of years, I've been talking about this."
