On Saturday, July 1, President Donald J. Trump addressed a capacity crowd at the John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, D.C., during a night to honor our nation's veterans.

The Celebrate Freedom Concert was a night of hope, celebration and commemoration. Medi-Share CEO Ted Squires was among a handful of guests invited by the White House to attend the event as the president's guest, seated in the presidential box.

Squires, a member of the White House Faith Initiative, said, "I was so pleased during this patriotic week to represent over 290,000 Christian Care Ministry members in honoring our nation's heroes and to do so from the president's box at The Kennedy Center."

Squires also said of the opportunity, "I'm enjoying a continuing relationship with various members of this administration that long precedes the election of President Trump."

Other guests included the chair of the President's White House Faith Initiative, Pastor Paula White, vice-chair Rev. Johnnie Moore, American Values founder Gary Bauer and Emmy-nominated comedian Chonda Pierce.

Significant to people of faith were President Trump's remarks when he said, "As long as I am president, no one is going to stop you from practicing your faith or from preaching what is in your heart...Bureaucrats think they can run over your lives, overrule your values, meddle in your faith and tell you what to say and how to pray. But we know that parents, not bureaucrats, know best how to raise their children and create a thriving society. And we know that families and churches, not government officials, know best how to create a strong and loving community. And above all else, we know this: In America, we don't worship government, we worship God."

The Celebrate Freedom Concert was organized and led by Pastor Robert Jeffress of First Baptist Church in Dallas. Pastor Jeffress is a friend of the President and a founding member of the White House Faith Initiative's executive council.
