Police records indicate they arrested a pro-life activist when he became aggressive and punched multiple members of a megachurch.
Jeff White, the founder of Survivors of the Abortion Holocaust, says the members were the ones who accosted him.
According to local news, two security officers approached White while he was pinning pro-life literature to cars in the parking lot of Sunrise Church in Rialto, California, on behalf of Congressional Candidate Paul Chabot.
“The two confronted White asking him to leave the property when he became confrontational and punched them both in the face, the statement continued to read,” the Press Enterprise reports. “The two forced White to the ground until uniformed Rialto Police officers could arrive.”
But White says he was the one who was accosted and beaten up, not the other way around.
White says he did not press charges against the six men who accosted him.
“I kept asking them, ‘Am I under arrest or are you just beating me up.’ There was no interest in the formalities of the law,” White says.
PE reports police released White Sunday night, and the investigation will be move to the San Bernardino County District Attorney’s office. Police are asking for trespassing and assault and battery charges to be filed against White.
