Oral Roberts University (ORU) has announced the launch of a two-week Chinese Leadership Institute to be held, February 7-20, 2016, on the Tulsa campus. The new institute is designed to provide Chinese business leaders with the opportunity to study in the United States and to gain a better understanding of American corporate and ministry practices, leadership and culture. Upon completion of the program, participants will earn a certificate from the University’s new training division—ORU Quest.

“ORU is a well-recognized global brand,” said ORU President William M. Wilson. “Students from more than 115 countries around the globe have chosen to pursue an ORU education. The Chinese Leadership Institute will allow the University to expand its certificate program to support Chinese business leaders, as well as the growth of U.S.-Chinese business relations.”

Attendees will enjoy morning leadership plenary sessions followed by afternoon tracks taught by ORU’s world-class faculty and global experts including Rev. Dennis Balcombe, Revival Chinese Ministries International; David Burkus, ORU associate professor of management; Thomson Mathew, dean of the ORU College of Theology and Ministry; and Wilson, among others.

In addition to on-campus sessions, participants will engage in experiential learning activities to reinforce teaching sessions. Outside learning activities will include excursions to area businesses and ministries where participants can interact personally with industry professionals. The institute will also include cultural activities that highlight Tulsa’s Native American and Western history. Participants will also attend an ORU Golden Eagles Basketball game, among other events.

“The Chinese Leadership Institute will be an immersive learning experience,” said ORU Provost Kathaleen Reid-Martinez. “Participants will stay in campus dormitories, dine in the cafeteria alongside ORU students, and have the opportunity to witness the University’s unique approach to Whole Person Education.”

Registration for the Chinese Leadership Institute is $2,495 per person and includes accommodations, meals and coordinated group activities. Registrants are responsible for individual travel arrangements and transportation costs, including applying for a U.S. Visa.

Registration for the ORU Chinese Leadership Institute is currently underway. Those interested in attending may register online at www.oru.edu/clic.
