Mark Hall, the lead singer for Casting Crowns, is calling on his fans for prayer—and they are responding.

In a Facebook post, Hall said he would "appreciate your prayers."

"Doctors found a solid mass in my right kidney about a week ago. They are 90 percent sure it's cancer and they are going to remove the entire kidney next Wednesday, March 11. They believe the cancer is contained in the kidney, which is also a great hope. They will know more once it is out and Pathology can see it," he wrote."I'll be in recovery for a month or a little longer because of the surgery. Please pray for healing and for God's peace for my family."

Hall says he's praising Him in this storm, a sincere play on the massively popular Casting Crowns song Praise Him in This Storm. Fans have started a Twitter campaign #PrayingforMark as a result of his request.

"Praying for you ... When you pass through the waters, I am with you; when you pass through the streams, they will not overwhelm you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned; the flames will not harm you. -Isaiah 43:2," wrote Nancy Rivera on Casting Crowns' Facebook page.

"We pray that God guides the minds and hands of the doctors and medical team as they care for you. We pray for a full recovery! We pray for peace and comfort for you and your family, Mark. In Jesus name, amen!" offered classicchristian247.com in a post.

"Heavenly Father we ask for prayers for Mark... Please guide the doctors hands as they perform his surgery and with the treatment plan... we also post for his family for you to give each of them the strength they need to get through this.... In Jesus name! Isaiah 41:10. So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand," posted Staci Hoover Keen.
