Facebook has unveiled a new set of emoji-style stickers featuring a slew of gay pride symbols, reports Aman Jain on Valuewalk.

June, which President Obama just declared LGBT Pride Month, is the occasion for the social media giant’s new rollout.

The graphics, which can now be shared instantly between Facebook users, feature rainbows, hearts, androgynous characters, same-sex couples and even one image which appears to depict a drag queen.

Facebook has long been noted for its support of the LGBT movement, providing about 56 different gender options for user profiles, according to Jain.

What’s in an Image?

In Romans 1, the Apostle Paul directly connects one of the root sins of all mankind—worshiping created images—with homosexuality.

In Scripture, the reasoning goes as follows: man disregards the authority of his Maker and devotes himself to the visible creation, so God allows man’s sexual appetites to go on unrestrained (see verses 18-32).

So while the LGBT community takes pride in its identity this month, it is important to realize that it was humanity’s neglect of its original identity—to be reflections of God’s glory—that led to the adoption of every lesser, sinful, unsatisfying identity from wealthiness and fame to heterosexual promiscuity and homosexuality.

Biblically, the death and resurrection of Jesus doesn’t just forgive our sins, but revives shattered identities in Christ.

This month, as Christians pray for their LGBT friends, neighbors, and family members, all must note that while the world uses countless images to express themselves, God has expressed the perfect human identity through His Image: the sinless man Jesus Christ (Colossians 1:15).
