Genelle Guzman-McMillan—the last survivor to be found at Ground Zero and author of Angel in the Rubble, released last month by Howard Books—will be featured this week in the debut episode of a new CMT (Country Music Television) series that explores real-life encounters with angels.

To be hosted by TV personality, author and outspoken Christian Elisabeth Hasselbeck, Angels Among Us premieres at 9 p.m. EST, Thursday, Sept. 15. The four-episode series features men and women who believe they were delivered from tragedy through angelic encounters.

The first episode will commemorate the 10th anniversary of the Sept. 11, 2001, terrorist attacks, featuring Guzman-McMillan—who tells her story in the Aug. 2 release, Angel in the Rubble—as well as two other people who were at the World Trade Centers and Pentagon.

Guzman-McMillan was on the 13th floor of one of the Twin Towers when it collapsed. She believes an angel held her hand until she became the last survivor pulled from the rubble 27 hours later. Escaping with only minor injuries, Guzman-McMillan then committed herself to Christ, became a member of Brooklyn Tabernacle in Brooklyn, N.Y., and married her longtime boyfriend.

Jonathan Merkh, Howard Books vice president and publisher, told Christian Retailing that Angel in the Rubble was “an incredible story. … People are fascinated by accounts of the angelic world.”
