David Brody: The GOP Needs to Wake Up

Ted Cruz

CBN News Chief Political Correspondent David Brody had a message for the Republican Party establishment on Wednesday, a message he kept short and to the point.

Wake Up, GOP: Ted Cruz can definitely beat Hillary Clinton” was the headline of his latest commentary at The Brody File. And, contrary to the Republican naysayers—like former Wisconsin Gov. Tommy Thompson and U.S. Sen. Jeff Flake of Arizona—there is a recipe that doesn’t require building a bigger tent for the party.

“Look folks, has anybody checked the polls?” he asked. “The Real Clear Politics average shows Clinton narrowly beating Cruz (2.9 percent), well within the margin of error. And newsflash: The email server and Benghazi controversies haven’t even been brought up.

“There’s no doubt Ted Cruz can win a General Election against Clinton. Throw in the fact that he’s a much better debater than her (though she’s formidable) and you have the recipe for a GOP victory in the fall.”
