Republican presidential candidate U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz announced he has reached a milestone with his growing grass-roots national effort.

In Georgia, he now has 100 county chairs, and he added 11 new current and former legislators to his state leadership team. Four of the state's top grass-roots leaders have also joined his campaign as co-chairs.

"I am encouraged to have the endorsement of so many conservative Georgia leaders," Cruz said. "We are continuing to build the strongest operation in Georgia to get out the message that is resonating with so many Americans. I'm confident that we're building the conservative coalition to compete and win Georgia on Super Tuesday."

Georgia state chairman Ralph Hudgens said Cruz's leadership team shows he is the candidate that best reflects the state's values. State director Stephen Siao agreed, saying the Cruz ground game is "second to none."

"Georgians are ready for a strong, conservative leader in the White House and that's why Ted Cruz has built so much support around the state," U.S. Rep. Jody Hice said. "We trust Senator Ted Cruz to be the true conservative who can help turn America around."
