FOX News Channel host Sean Hannity had said from the onset of the 2016 presidential campaign that he was going to do everything he can to help whomever was the Republican presidential nominee win the Nov. 8 election.

Now, a 30-second clip he made in support of Donald Trump has him in hot water with his bosses at the cable network. In a new video released by the Trump campaign that highlights the Republican nominee’s support in the Heartland of America, particularly on Second Amendment issues, Hannity said:

One of the reasons I’m supporting Donald Trump this year is, number 1, he’s going to put originalists on the Supreme Court—people that believe in fidelity to the Constitution, separation of powers, co-equal branches of government.

He’s a guy that will vet refugees to keep Americans safe. And of course he’s gonna build that wall. He says he’s gonna have Mexico pay for it. That’s fine, as long as we secure the country and of course we don’t want people competing for jobs.

He said he will eliminate Obamacare, make us energy-independent. And as somebody who’s been a marksman since I was 11 years old, protecting our Second Amendment rights are paramount to me.

The Washington Post, which has publicly declared it intended to heavily scrutinize Trump during the election campaign, wanted to know what FNC bosses thought of the clip. Apparently, they weren’t aware of it beforehand.

“We had no knowledge that Sean Hannity was participating in this, and he will not be doing anything along these lines for the remainder of the election,” a network spokesman told the WaPo’s Erik Wemple.
