So CAIR Conducted Their Own Exit Poll

President-Elect Donald Trump

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, the largest "Muslim civil rights and advocacy organization" in the U.S.—with direct ties to radical Islamic groups, including the Muslim Brotherhood—conducted its own 2016 presidential election exit poll.

The three-question survey, called the 2016 Muslim Voters Presidential Election Exit Poll, was conducted by telephone and had a sample of more than 2,000 American Muslims. Turnout was reported as "high"—roughly 90 percent of respondents said they voted, but that number was about 5 points lower than in 2012 when President Barack Obama was seeking re-election.

The three questions were:

  • Did you vote?
  • Who did you vote for?
  • Did you feel intimidated at your polling site because you are Muslim?

About 8 percent of the respondents said they felt intimidated, although the poll offered no chance to gather specifics about the alleged intimidation. And not surprisingly, former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton won the exit poll with about 74 percent, although that was substantially lower than Obama's numbers in 2008 and 2012.

The real surprise was how well President-elect Donald Trump did in the poll, particularly in light of the Clinton Machine and the liberal mainstream media efforts to paint him as an anti-Muslim racist. The president-elect received the support of 13 percent of Muslims.

CAIR said that was "about double" what former Massachusetts Gov. Mitt Romney received in 2012. But in fact, according to the organization's own press release about the 2012 poll, Romney only received 4 percent, meaning Trump more than tripled the previous GOP nominee's support among Muslims.
