Will Glenn Beck Get Another Visit From the Secret Service?

In March, nationally syndicated radio host Glenn Beck got a visit from the U.S. Secret Service over a perceived threat to the well-being of Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump.

Founded or not, after Wednesday’s show, he can likely expect another.

Beck had author Brad Thor—a frequent guest on his program—on to discuss a wide range of topics, one of which included a “what if” scenario in which Donald Trump became president and overstepped his constitutional authority. Thor, whose “thrillers” frequently feature controversial subject matter, said the subject took him to an admittedly dark place.

“With the feckless, spineless Congress we have, who will stand in the way of Donald Trump overstepping his constitutional authority as president?” he asked. “If Congress won’t remove him from office, what patriot will step up and do that if, if, he oversteps his mandate as president, his constitution-mandated authority as president, I should say.

“If he oversteps that, how do we get him out of office? And I don’t think there is a legal means available. I think it will be a terrible, terrible position the American people will be in to get Trump out of office, because you won’t be able to do it through Congress.”

Beck agreed with Thor’s assessment, which immediately resulted in a flurry of complaints that Beck and Thor were advocating for Trump’s assassination. It’s not the first time those two have brought that subject up, though.

Also in March—unrelated to the widely reported Secret Service inquiry—Beck and Thor discussed the potential for assassination attempts against Trump. In fact, Thor predicted “unprecedented assassination attempts,” which prompted a request of Beck’s audience.

“I want to right now ask everyone who is listening to pray for the men and women of the Secret Service who are charged with protecting Donald Trump and his family,” he said. “May God protect them and may God protect the Trumps.”

The Secret Service has not yet officially responded to the comments.
