Trump: 'We Are Locked and Loaded' to Respond to Attacks on Saudi Oil Fields

Tensions between Washington and Tehran have further escalated in the wake of Saturday's Sept. 14, 2019, drone attack on Saudi oil sites.

About 5.7 million barrels of crude oil production, more than 5% of the world's daily supply, were interrupted in the drone assault claimed by the Yemeni Houthi terrorist group. Houthi responsibility for the strike has been dismissed, however, by Washington sources.

A USA official said there were 19 points of impact in the strike on Saudi facilities and that evidence showed the launch area was west-northwest of the targets, indicating Iran—not south from Yemen.

President Donald Trump authorized the use of the USA emergency oil stockpiles to ensure stable supplies after the attack. He warned that the United States was "locked and loaded" for a response to the hit on Saudi Arabia's oil sites, after a senior official in his administration said the strike did not come from Yemen, but rather from Iran.

"Amid all the calls for de-escalation, Iran has now launched an unprecedented attack on the world's energy supply," he said.

Iranian sources have denied the USA allegation that the Islamic Republic carried out the assault. A senior Revolutionary Guards commander warned on Sunday, Sept. 15, 2019, that the Islamic Republic was ready for "full-fledged" war.

Intercede in prayer that the Lord will prevent Iranian officials from making increasingly aggressive moves resulting in the outbreak of war. The threat of war in the Middle East is severe and mounting by the hour. Pray for God to intervene and prevent global catastrophe and loss of life.
