John Hagee Ministries recently donated $50,000 to Friends of the Israel Defense Forces (FIDF) at the ministry’s annual Night to Honor Israel, which took place at Cornerstone Church in San Antonio, Texas. For more than 30 years, the Night to Honor Israel event has served as an expression of Christian solidarity with the state of Israel and the Jewish people.

The event, emceed by American politician Mike Huckabee, brought together Jews, Christians and other like-minded Israel supporters to share in a night of festivities. The highlight of the evening came when FIDF Texas chapter Executive Director Scott Kammerman received, on behalf of FIDF, a $50,000 donation to go toward wellbeing and educational services for the soldiers of Israel.

“It was my first time attending the Night to Honor Israel, and I was especially impressed with the enthusiastic support of the Cornerstone Church congregants for Israel and the quality of the program,” says Adam Goldman, FIDF Texas chapter board member. “Being a supporter and board member of the FIDF Texas chapter, it meant a lot to me when Pastor Hagee granted the organization a generous donation of $50,000.”

Pastor John Hagee is senior pastor of Cornerstone Church, a nondenominational megachurch with more than 20,000 members in San Antonio, Texas. Pastor Hagee is also the CEO of Global Evangelism Television and founder and national chairman of CUFI. His strong support for Israel stems from a religious belief that the Bible commands Christians to support Israel and the Jewish people. At the event, he donated $2.7 million to various Jewish and Israeli charities.

“Pastor Hagee recognizes that Israel will always be in a tenuous position, and he has shown unwavering commitment to support Israel’s right to defend itself and secure its borders,” says Nicole Lowenstein, chair of the FIDF Texas chapter.

Friends of the Israel Defense Forces was established in 1981 by a group of Holocaust survivors as a 501(c)(3) not-for-profit organization with the mission of providing and supporting educational, social, cultural and recreational programs and facilities for the heroic men and women of the Israel Defense Forces (IDF). Today, FIDF has more than 120,000 loyal supporters and 15 regional offices throughout the U.S. and Panama. FIDF proudly offers its support to the IDF soldiers and their families through a variety of unique and innovative programs. These opportunities reinforce the vital bond between the communities in the United States, the soldiers of the IDF and the state of Israel. For more information, please visit fidf.org.
