How These Pagan Values Have Totally Infiltrated the United States

Former Vice President Joe Biden gave the keynote address at the Human Rights Campaign gala in Columbus, Ohio. He announced that if elected president in 2020, his top legislative priority will be to sign the Equality Act into law; simply put, to sanctify "LGBTQ protections into the nation's labor and civil rights laws."

In 2015, we wrote: "Homosexual militants once preached a libertarian argument: 'Let us live our lives in the privacy of our homes, be contented and leave us alone.' Militant homosexual activists constructed over the last decade a totalitarian posture: 'Bakers, photographers, florists and Christian retreat centers will participate in our same-sex weddings or be bankrupted.'"

Joe Biden's announcement at the gala indicates what is going to happen next when he becomes president: "Bow to the secular state, cheer and glorify same-sex intercourse and marriage or spend time in jail."

The liberal Warren Court (1953-1969) may have envisioned attaining freedom from religion by the removal of prayer and the Bible from public education in their Engel v. Vitale (1962) and Abington School District v. Schempp (1963) decisions. What they really brought about, however, was not neutrality toward religion, but "a religion of secularism."

As pointed out before, the Supreme Court's unholy crusade over the last 60 years includes thus far:

  • Removal of prayer from public education (1962).
  • Removal of the Bible from public education (1963).
  • Discovery of a constitutional right to kill babies (1973).
  • Removal of the Ten Commandments from public school buildings (1980).
  • Discovery of an occult, all-new constitutional right to homosexual intercourse and marriage (2015).

As a result, the spirit of America is starving, her testimony for Christ is fading and a period of fruitless backsliding has supervened.

Never seen before in American history, the boorishly unrestrained "paganization" of the culture breeds wholesale devastation and dissolution, a cataclysmic crumbling of Western Civilization. "To deem the Lord's name insignificant and ordinary is the same as despising it," as the late South African theologian Pieter Adriaan Verhoef observed.

Where are "equal rights" for those who believe that homosexual behavior is sin as defined by Holy Scripture? If sexual desire or behavior toward a person or persons of one's own sex is, on God's authority, to be considered a vice, who then authorized the State to bless and hallow such vice and evangelize it through public education? Five pagan Supreme Court Justices?

Can it be made any clearer with regard to sexual sin, whether fornication, heterosexual adultery, homosexuality, or other forms of perversion, than what God pronounces in 1 Corinthians 6:9-11:

Do you not know that the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God? Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor extortioners will inherit the kingdom of God. Such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, and you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus by the Spirit of our God.

In his classic The Life of Elijah, A.W. Pink describes a period in the life of Israel, similar to where the American culture finds herself now:

Elijah appeared on the stage of public action during one of the darkest hours of Israel's sad history. What a deplorable state God's people were then in. Israel had grievously and flagrantly departed from Jehovah, and that which directly opposed Him had been publicly set up [read: Secularism]. Never before had the favoured nation sunk so low. Painful indeed is it to trace their sad course, and still more tragic to behold how there has been a repetition of the same in the history of Christendom.

Against this background, "Biden is right about one thing: Groups like the Human Rights Campaign have pulled off a dizzying moral revolution the likes of which has never been seen in America. Americans' views have been transformed on LGBTQ rights and same-sex marriage to a degree that activists in previous decades could not have imagined. During his speech [in Columbus], Biden portrayed LGBTQ individuals as victims, ignoring the fact that it is people of faith who have been the big losers in this war of ideas. Bakery owners are being sued out of existence, medical professionals are being pressured to embrace transgender ideology and major corporations are pulling their business out of states that seek to protect religious freedom."

However, secularists are perfectly fine with teaching Christian children horrifying sexual education guidelines, but for heaven's sake, don't bring Jesus, prayer or the Bible to school.

How offensive it is to oppose pagan veneration and feral values. It becomes increasingly clear why the liberal Warren Court in 1962-1963 went on its unholy crusade to remove prayer to Jehovah and the Bible from public education, insofar as secularists have now taken full charge of America's religious life.

In hindsight, since politics is downstream from culture, allowing pagan secularists to indoctrinate three to four generations of America's youth with taxpayer money may not have been so smart. To paraphrase Mark Steyn, if public education is secular; if Apple, Amazon, Google, YouTube and Facebook, all far left, control social media; if George Clooney and Amal are icons to emulate; if former strippers Lady Gaga, Blac Chyna, Amber Rose, Carmen Electra and Cardi B are role models for our daughters, having an 'R' behind one's name isn't going to make much difference.

There is good news, praise be to God. Six Missouri pastors ran for local office in 2018, and five were elected. Three of the five were elected to the Missouri House, which just passed restrictions on abortion. Gideons and Rahabs are beginning to stand.
