ABC Family Promotes Perversion, Profits on Transgender Trend

Becoming Us

When there is an outrageous ruling handed down by a judge or jury, we oftentimes hear the phrase "perversion of justice."
Likewise, when there is a sexual assault recorded in the news with sordid details, we sometimes hear a reference to a "perverted mind."

What exactly does the term "perversion "mean?

A dictionary will say it refers to a distortion, misrepresentation or falsification  of something. "The alteration of something from its original state or meaning to a distortion of what was first intended."

In Romans 1:27 there is a description of perverted activity in a culture careening down a slippery slope to destruction as happened in ancient Rome. "Likewise the men, leaving the natural function of the woman, burned in their lust toward one another, men with men doing that which is shameful, and receiving in themselves the due penalty of their error."

In Edward Gibbon's The Decline and Fall of the Roman Empire, he characterized perverted activity in Rome's final days as "bizarreness masquerading as creativity."

Is this a description of what's happening in our culture today, especially as it relates to the entertainment industry? And are you aware of the latest offering being put forth on ABC Family to further pervert the lives of our children and grandchildren?

New Series About Young Teen and His Transgender Dad

Becoming Us airs Monday night as the unscripted story of young Ben, an Illinois teenager whose dad, Charlie, is transgender and becoming a woman before our very eyes! This reality show will run week after week to help educate our children about the normalcy of transgenderism.

This is masterful timing because of all the tragic stories about Bruce Jenner, who thinks he's a woman or is he becoming one or could he be one or might he really be one if somethings are removed anatomically or just what are we to believe as we pray for this tortured soul and confused individual?

Tom Ascheim, President of ABC Family, tells us, "It's a moment in our society when the world is focusing on transgender issues, so it only helps us!" Help us do what? Further scramble and corrupt impressionable minds of young, developing sons and daughters?

Tom, father of three kids himself, tells us further, "We're targeting 14- (to) 34-year-olds in a period of their life when they're discovering who they are ... the issues around gay rights, including LGBT rights, are their civil rights. I think it's the rest of us (who) need to catch up to the younger people!"

Isn't that beautiful from this advocate of what the Bible calls "perverted?" In reality, Tom is just coming alongside of other shows now appearing normalizing this transgender theme: Transparent; New Girls on the Block; I Am Jazz.

Not content to glorify homosexuality and lesbianism and bisexuality, now Hollywood is shooting off the fireworks and calling our attention to another variant lifestyle to consider. Never mind the fact that 41 percent of transgenders attempt suicide.

ABC Family Is Now One of the Two Gayest Networks on TV!

If you thought MTV or maybe NBC led the pack with programming featuring homosexuals, lesbians, bisexuals and transgenders, here's your reality check. The homosexual advocacy group GLAAD monitors these kinds of things and commends ABC Family as one of the top gay networks.

ABC Family had 50 percent of its prime time hours featuring LGBT characters! A spokesman said this cable network has transformed from a network with a "conservative bent, and it simply isn't that network in any shape or form (anymore)!"

In case you're not aware and allowing your children to watch indiscriminately their programming, pay attention to the following:

• In 2006 they rebranded themselves with the tagline, "A New Kind of Family!"

• Chief Creative Officer, Kate Juergens, says, "We want to represent family in a contemporary and authentic way."

• GLAAD proudly communicates that the TV show The Fosters about two lesbians raising a family is "an example of the way networks should go." The show had an episode not long ago about a teenager "transitioning."

Pretty Little Liars, directed at teenagers, has a main character who is a lesbian and the show features girls kissing.

From Pat Robertson to Perversion in One Generation

One of my heroes in the Christian faith is Pat Robertson. I've shared meals with Pat and he has influenced my life in many ways to be a man of faith and innovation to the glory of God!

When Pat founded his cable network in 1977, he had only wholesome religious programming like the 700 Club, which was on three times a day. By 1981, almost 11 million people were turning in!

In 1981, Pat and his team further transitioned the network to be "family-friendly" featuring continuous spiritual programming with clean Westerns, game shows, classic sitcoms and family dramas. By 1987, almost 36 million were tuning in.

In 1988, the network was rebranded as CBN Family Channel. Additional changes were made but then it was sold to Fox in 1997 and became Fox Family. According to reports, prime time viewership declined by 35 percent during the next three-year period.

In 2001 the network was sold to Disney, 500 people were laid off and a new name eventually applied, ABC Family. Be aware that, while Disney has some wholesome programming, it also has some very dangerous underpinnings. Be careful if you plan a vacation at Disney World during one of their Gay Pride events!

"With this avalanche of LGBT programming and influences coming our way, what can we do?"

Pray.

Protect your family by being discerning parents and providing healthy alternatives.

Prevent exposure to those networks and stations promoting unrighteous activity.

As the dark gets darker and the light gets lighter, the difference between the two is becoming more and more evident every day. Don't be discouraged but recognize the end of the age is rapidly approaching. May God send us revival!
