The Lie of the Sanctuary City Welcome Sign

Last week, Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis took action regarding the growing number of illegal migrants who have flooded across our borders. Approximately 50, wandering homeless and living off the street, were given a chance to relocate to a sanctuary city—the "we ignore immigration laws" cities.

A sanctuary city has hung out a welcome sign, right? Evidently not.

It turns out those sanctuary city mayors don't actually want to be bothered with the actual illegal migrant crisis their policies have helped create. When posh liberal playground Martha's Vineyard found itself with almost 50 illegals on its doorstep, city officials panicked.

The local tourism board called it a "humanitarian crisis."

Let's talk humanitarian crisis. How about last month in Eagle Pass, Texas, where 10,000 illegals crossed the border in just six days according to a source operating under the umbrella of U.S Customs and Border Protection.

Or that nearly 5 million illegals have crossed our borders since Biden took office. His administration actually patted themselves on the back last month as they announced the number of illegals for July were "only" 199,976 down from 207,416 in June.

That is the true crisis. Despite those numbers just 10 days ago VP Kamala Harris announced the border as "secure." When questioned what that meant, she answered, "We have a secure border in that that is a priority for any nation, including ours and our administration."

What is her definition of secure? Because it doesn't match mine.

Governors DeSantis (FL) and Abbott (TX) are simply pushing back on the insanity. Like DeSantis, Abbott took action last week when he sent two busloads (approx. 150 illegals) to sanctuary city Chicago. It turns out Mayor Lori Lightfoot (D) wasn't welcoming at all. In conjunction with Illinois' Democrat Governor J.B. Pritzker, she had the migrants bussed right out of there. Sixty-four were sent to a Hampton Inn in Burr Ridge for Mayor Gary Grasso (R) to deal with.

But the duplicity isn't over.

Now Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar has demanded a criminal investigation be launched against Gov. DeSantis. Salazar claims the illegal migrants were "lured" from the migrant resource center in San Antonio to be flown to Martha's Vineyard.

(Note: Bexar County Texas, which includes the city of San Antonio, has claimed sanctuary city status. There are approximately 175,000 undocumented migrants in Salazar's jurisdiction. Seems like he needs to be working on his own issue.)

My question is what about the millions of illegals who have been "lured" to our nation with the carrot of free everything? They have then loaded them onto buses, and into planes, dropping them off in undisclosed locations in the dead of night all over the country?

How dare Salazar and the liberal open borders promoters continue this charade as if DeSantis or Abbott have done anything other than try to stop the insanity and call for the protection of our borders?

Salazar said of the illegals, "They have every right to be where they are and I believe they were preyed upon."

But Sheriff, they don't have every right to be here. Your job is to protect the citizens—which obviously is not a top priority.

I encourage you to call Bexar County Sheriff Javier Salazar right now to ask why he would waste our tax dollars with this ridiculous "investigation."

Sadly, the migrants are simply pawns in a bigger chess game lured here by an administration promising a better life, but using them for their own designs.
