Prophetic Deliverance Minister: Stop Disobeying the Spirit During Worship

When other people see you on your knees in obedience to Christ, it can prompt them to do the same. (Photo by Naassom Azevedo on Unsplash)

One act of obedience or disobedience through worship can change the outcome of a service. The first few times the Lord called me to bow down and get on my knees, I denied it. I could not do it; it was out of my comfort zone.

I concerned myself with what people were thinking, such as, "Oh no, the Lord is really moving in her life and dealing with some tough stuff that she has to be on her knees." It never appears to most people that this is our way to worship the Lord or that He is stretching us in worship.

I remember several times the Lord telling me to get on my knees. He would say, "You're being disobedient. How many times do I have to tell you? The song is not over yet. You still have time."

Finally, I obeyed and stretched out my arms and knelt before Him, and He showed me Himself in such a real and personal way. It felt like Ezra 9:5 (NKJV), "I fell on my knees and spread out my hands to the Lord my God." The more I started worshiping on my knees; the more Jesus started showing me visions and communicating with me during worship. I had to learn to focus on the Jesus and not the people around me. When I did, amazing things began to happen. The intensity of communication and revelation from the Lord was so personal and real.

The Lord can and will call you to do different things in your worship. He may lead you to worship Him in song with your entire heart, to pray in your prayer language or to be silent. Stay in tune with where He is leading, and let Him do the rest. Don't come with your agenda for worship, only His. You may feel the presence of angels around you in worship. He can affirm prophecies and give you answers to prayers.

My friend told me the first time she saw me kneel in worship, "Oh, I wish I could do that." You know what? You can do it. Just remove your pride, be obedient and listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Don't think about the circumstances around you; just do it.

How many times has He called you to lift your hands in worship or bow to Him in the aisle, and you disobeyed? One act of obedience or disobedience can change the course of your life or someone else's. What if your kneeling down to worship Him led to an altar call and other people coming out of their comfort zones?

You may never know how your act of worship can affect other people. Perhaps God is tugging at their heart, and they need someone to lead the way, to convict them, to know they are not alone. It is hard to get on your knees or lie prostrate when no one else is doing it. The outcome is not our responsibility, only the obedience.

We need to be obedient to what the Holy Spirit is calling us to do. In John 4:23-24. Jesus tells us what He is calling us to do, "But the hour is coming and now is when the true worshipers will worship the Father in spirit and truth; for the Father is seeking such to worship Him. God is spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth."

Do you think there will not be kneeling, bowing down and lying prostrate in heaven? The Lord's Prayer in the Bible says, "On earth as it is in heaven." All through the Old and New Testament we hear stories and see scriptures of people bowing down and lying prostrate.

Invite the Holy Spirit in to come and lead you through worship and then be obedient to what He leads.
