Expose the Unfruitful Schemes of Darkness at Work Right Now

"There is no nation on earth powerful enough to accomplish our overthrow. Our destruction, should it come at all, will be from another quarter. From the inattention of the people to the concerns of their government, from their carelessness and negligence" (Daniel Webster, 1782-1852).

America is divided on many fronts. Where are the answers? How will the future and security of America unfold in the days to come? My objective is not to be judgmental or negative, but to expose the danger of striving to be one nation "above" God.

Mandatory Euthanasia Bill - Washington, D.C.: What many call genocide, Congress calls necessary to curtail rising health care costs. In the hope of reclaiming financial stability, many legislators plan to sign a mandatory euthanasia bill. In defense of the bill, some state representatives claim that abortion has helped to offset rising health care costs. This new legislation will include those with terminal or chronic illnesses—life will be terminated when rehabilitation is uncertain, and/or when lingering illnesses threaten the economy. Those with criminal records, and the elderly, are also being considered. The bill is expected to take effect late next year.

Congress Lowers Age of Sexual Consent - Washington, D.C.: Congress will vote later this year to lower the age of sexual consent to 12. Members have agreed to consider new research indicating a growing trend.

Same-sex Marriage Exceeds Traditional Marriage - Washington, D.C.: Same-sex marriage now exceeds traditional marriage in some states. As a result, words such as "mom" and "dad" are being changed to "partner 1" and "partner 2." Congress is considering legislation against traditional families and will limit them to one child.

Zero Tolerance for Christians - Washington, D.C.: Homeland Security reports that Christianity is now under control. A recent poll indicates that fewer than 2 percent of the population report adhering to Christian beliefs and biblical absolutes. This decrease is attributed to a successful "zero tolerance" policy, which includes hate-speech legislation, outlawing use of the Bible, incarceration for Christians, heavy taxation on evangelical churches and media scrutiny of anyone associated with the Christian faith. Additionally, many biblical terms dealing with marriage, sexual orientation and family values are now identified as hate speech and cannot be used in public.

Although fictitious, these imaginary headlines may be more fact than fiction if America continues to ignore the warning signs. Just take the beautiful city of San Francisco as one example. As the American Renewal Project points out: "San Francisco is on the verge of implosion following its spiritual departure from the faith of its founders. Once one of the most beautiful cities in America, San Francisco is now a bastion of progressive lunacy. The law is basically ignored, the homeless are encouraged to camp out, convicted felons are given jobs over honest citizens, our military is hated and disrespected and droves of gay activists walk the streets stark naked. Public decency laws, federal immigration laws and plain common decency has been replaced by a city that no longer respects itself or others."

The once-mayor of San Francisco is running for governor, as is a Christian businessman from San Diego. We'll stand in line to see a movie, but we won't stand in line to vote and elect leaders who will affect the direction of our country. During this election cycle, register to vote and then vote your values. It really is that simple. Go here and make a difference.

We are witnessing the rapid deterioration of a nation one city at a time right before our eyes. But there is hope: 2 Chronicles 7:14 calls out from the past with resounding clarity to America today: "If My people, who are called by My name, will humble themselves and pray, and seek My face and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and will heal their land."

There are times to encourage, motivate and uplift, but there are also times to confront, challenge and contend for what is right—that time is now. Let it not be said of us today: "And after them grew up a generation who did not know the Lord" (Judg. 2:10b).
