End-Time Prophecy Manifesting in Obama's Transgender Edict

Last week was crazy! The momentum of the sexual revolution is astounding, and the conflicts surrounding it are popping up all over the nation. There is hope, but first let's review the week.

On Monday, the governor of North Carolina was supposed to respond to the president's threat to eliminate our new privacy law (HB2)—so we responded with a lawsuit against the feds. Nice! But the administration swung back with a lawsuit of its own, threatening to withhold our own tax dollars.

On Tuesday, the superintendent of the Fort Worth Independent School District signed new guidelines for boys to use girls' bathrooms and play in girls' sports throughout the entire district. But he didn't stop there. He expanded the guidelines to say, "Prior to notifying any parent ... regarding the student's gender identity or any potential transition process, school personnel must work closely with the student to assess the degree to which, if any, the parent ... has been or will be involved in the process."

Wait! Hold up a second. If the parent should be involved, or will the parent be involved? To eliminate the parent in a sex-change transition process is absolutely absurd. And all of this was done without the school board's approval! These guidelines were not debated, discussed or disclosed to anyone. He just put them in place.

Then, it's hard to believe the week could get even worse, but the president issued a "royal edict" demanding every public school in the nation open bathrooms, locker rooms and showers to boys identifying as girls.

That was just one week in the U.S.

What we're witnessing is total lawlessness and a meltdown of civil society. The safety and protection provided by our laws are unraveling right before our eyes. So it's important to know why, and it's vital we see hope in the midst of it all.

First, we have to realize the issue has nothing to do with transgender people. These are folks for whom Christ died and loves dearly. They are humans, precious in God's sight and created for His purposes. They need the truth spoken in love so they can find hope and healing in the arms of Jesus.

Rather, this has everything to do with the revolution—the radical sexual revolution bent on removing God's moral boundaries, redefining God's moral values and reshaping a new godless America. The transgender community just happens to be the easiest group to exploit for the political ground needed to make the revolution happen.

Keep in mind that in 1987, Guide Magazine featured an article titled "The Overhauling of Straight America," where it listed action points for the sexual revolution. Here are two we're watching today, written nearly 30 years ago:

  1. Our campaign must not demand direct support for our actions, but instead should take anti-discrimination as its theme.
  2. At a later stage in our campaign for rights, it will be time to get tough with the remaining opponents. To be blunt, they must be vilified. We intend to make those opposed to us look so nasty that average Americans will want to disassociate themselves from such types.

The revolution is here, among us. It's eroding civil society and creating more and more confusion and conflict, which is exactly what it has intended to do. Last year, the conflict was gay marriage. This year, it's transgender bathrooms. Next year, it will be something different.

The issue isn't the issue—the revolution is.

But there's hope! Although history is simply repeating itself—as it always does when God is removed from a nation—the Bible shines light in the midst of darkness.

During King Asa's reign, there was civil unrest, and the peace they had once enjoyed was gone. "And at that time there was no peace to the one traveling in or out because there was a great panic on all those who dwelt in the land" (2 Chr. 15:5).

"For a long time Israel has been without the true God, and without a teaching priest and without law" (2 Chr. 15:3).

  1. Empty religion
  2. Passive preachers
  3. Lawless leaders

These three things together are the ingredients necessary to bake into a nation's decadence, decay and destruction—in that order. And it's because of these things we're in the situation we are in today.

America has forsaken the true God, the only God who brings blessing and protection (the church is directly responsible, but that's another article altogether). Our pulpits are filled with passive preachers who relegate the truth—if they speak it at all—down to a common denominator so as to not offend. And our leaders adamantly reject the vital laws necessary to maintain a civil society (as our president showed us last week).

But—and that's a big but—God always gives us a way out of the madness. The story of King Asa didn't end in despair, as God said, "Listen to me, Asa, and all Judah and Benjamin: The Lord is with you while you are with Him. If you all seek Him, He will be found with you. But if you forsake Him, He will forsake you. ... But you all must be strong and not lose heart, for there is a reward for your deeds" (2 Chr. 15:2, 7).

It's time we seek God with all our hearts once again all across this nation, beginning in our own lives, homes and communities. He is our only hope, for all of us, including the transgender community and anyone raging against His moral boundaries.

"Therefore repent and be converted, that your sins may be wiped away, that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord" (Acts 3:19).
