1 Thing Franklin Graham Knows for Sure About the “9th Planet”
While the world ponders the implications of a ninth planet in our solar system, evangelist Franklin Graham knows one thing for sure: The discovery is no surprise to God.
“There’s a lot of excitement about researchers announcing that they think they might’ve discovered a ninth planet out there in our solar system that is about 10 times as large as Earth and is about 20 times farther from the sun,” Graham posted on Facebook.
“This may be a huge surprise to us, but if there is another planet out there, it comes as no surprise to God. If it’s there, He made it. The Bible tells us, ‘Through him all things were made; without him nothing was made that has been made’ (John 1:3).”
Scientists announced the discovery of “Planet Nine” on January 20.
Researcher Mike Brown told CNN scientists have not seen the planet, itself, but the discovery of certain objects help them deduced its presence.
“There have only been two true planets discovered since ancient times, and this would be a third. It’s a pretty substantial chunk of our solar system that’s still out there to be found, which is pretty exciting,” Brown says.
As for Graham, he sees this as a time to worship.
“When time as we know it comes to an end, mankind will still be uncovering new things they didn’t know about His intricate, immense, and awesome handiwork. ‘The heavens declare the glory of God; the skies proclaim the work of his hands’ (Psalm 19:1). No matter how old I get, I never cease to be amazed at God’s creation. How about you?”
