Prayer Warrior Pastor: The Second You Commit to God, Expect This Demonic Battle

Pastor Roosevelt Ethridge (Pastor Roosevelt Ethridge Facebook page)

As a prayer warrior, Pastor Roosevelt Ethridge knows all about spiritual warfare. He's been engaged in it for most of his life and, with a Bible in his hand, he's well-equipped for victory.

As pastor of Living World Ministries International in Wilson, North Carolina, and the overseer of Intersecting Ministries, Ethridge's heart is for every believer to develop a strong and productive prayer life. He knows that once a person pledges life to God, the battle with the enemy commences.

"Every time you are committed to God—whether it's ministry, business, community efforts or simply transitioning—the very minute, the very second you make that commitment, the war begins," Ethridge said on a recent episode of "Charisma Connection" on the Charisma Podcast Network. "The enemy will go out of his way to create hardship and challenges for you. Unexpected things will occur. Sometimes, it's like wildfire had just broken out in your life.

"The enemy will create these adversities so that the individual cannot see the advantage God has given them. But when they engage in prayer, that prayer becomes like night vision or x-ray vision. It gives us the ability to see beyond enemy lines so that we can recommit ourselves to the will and promise that God has for our lives.

"The Bible talks about how God can release the blessings from the heavens. What prayer does, it helps to fashion us in a place to where we can be in tune with what God says, and we can continue to speak to those things that be not as though they were."
