Travis Greene Says His Mother's Prayers Brought Him Back to Life During Childhood Injury

Pastor and five-time Grammy nominee Travis Greene recently shared the reason he's still alive today: his mother's prayers.

Greene shared on Fox and Friends that as a four-year-old child he fell out of a window four stories high, which led to the pronouncement of his death. However, God had other plans for Greene that involved His resurrection power.

"We were living in Germany at the time," Greene said. "Pronounced dead, my mother prayed for me and God restored my life so now we're traveling the world letting people know that Jesus is real and He loves us."

Greene has become known for his music with Forward City Church, which he and his wife planted in 2015, according to the Forward City Church website. The church is on a rapid growth track, last year celebrating 715 salvations and 209 baptisms. Greene says this year alone the church has welcomed in over 500 new people.

However, Greene's success didn't just happen overnight, and it hasn't been without trials. In his latest sermon called "The Prophets," Greene shared with his congregation about the purpose and ways that we can each find ourselves stuck in some type of bondage.

He shared the challenges he faced when he started his career. Churches couldn't always pay him, and sometimes he had to stay in unclean hotels because of expenses. One of the points he made was that it is in the most grueling seasons of life that we can experience a sharpening and the preparation to have the kind of story God wants us to share.

"I had to sing 'Made a Way,' thank God for my miracle," Greene said. "But a lot of people don't know that a year later we had a miscarriage and the song doesn't change just because the strange land comes. Have you ever had to sing in a strange land? I'm talking about singing 'You're a good, good father,' when my good father died at the tender age of 28...anybody can sing when you're on the mountain, but the valley will teach you how to worship God in spite of what you feel."

Greene also shared with his congregation about the value of staying in covenant with God instead of getting caught up by the idols of this world.

"The prophets warned over and over 'don't break covenant,'" Greene said. "Because idols are convenient, but they have consequences."

Greene has seen resurrection power in multiple ways. From being declared dead as a child, to a bumpy road into his music career and even experiencing the loss of an unborn baby, God has proven Himself faithful to Greene in all circumstances, turning Greene into a man of miracles.

The latest album out by Greene and Forward City is "Tent Revival," with their newest album 'Expect Impossible' releasing on Good Friday, April 7.
