The story of the prodigal son is as relevant today for young men and women as it was in the time of Jesus some 2,000 years ago.
People are influenced by the ways of the world and seduced by the promises of good times, fame and fortune.
All too often however they find that things are not as they seem and are caught up in a soul-stealing lifestyle that leaves them feeling emptier than ever, separated spiritually from their Creator.
This was the case for Angela White, better known by her performer name 'Blac Chyna,' who recently gave up everything and accepted Jesus Christ as the Lord of her life.
While White lived under the mask of Blac Chyna, she lived the life of a prodigal to the fullest.
White gained fame as a former stripper who was namedropped by the rapper Drake back in 2010. Following years of stardom using her body to draw celebrity status, she eventually become the top celebrity earner on the website OnlyFans for her pornographic imagery.
All the fame and fortune in the world mean nothing when the deep heart-hunger that drives a person can be satisfied in a relationship that only God can offer His children.
Sharing how God radically got ahold of her in May 2022, White sat down with the Daily Mail and explained that this was not some passing fancy but a life-changing decision to glorify God.
"I'm not doing OnlyFans anymore. I'm kind of past that," White explained. "It is one of those things where I did what I needed to do at that moment because of the circumstances I was in.
"Besides, with me being baptized, that's just not what God will want me to do. It's kind of degrading."
People often question a celebrity's conversion, wondering if perhaps they are just doing it to gain more fans or have the spotlight back on them.
With White, she's stopped doing the very thing that was making her millions of dollars.
As reported by the Daily Mail, "Having made many a headline for releasing such risqué content, the former stripper raised eyebrows in May 2022 when she shared a video of her getting baptized in her pool while wearing an all-white ensemble.
"'Born again on my Birthday 5/11/22 #newbeginnings,' she captioned the clip of her Christian rebirth."
White shared about how getting baptized on her birthday affected her choices and lifestyle moving forward after that, saying, "I think my baptism on my birthday played a big part. Everything has been kind of trickling down for me and lining up perfectly.
"Now I'm just going by faith. I'm not even really going by like the Blac Chyna way or the Angela way. Let me just let God lead me."
Sharing that she has a support group of Christians that help guide and disciple her on this new faith walk, White says that she has learned to "trust God in every step."
To get to this point, White had to live a life that saw her as nothing but eye candy for the masses. She was given the money and fame that came with selling out to the world, and found it was all only surface level, and offered no true happiness or contentment.
"I just got sick and tired of being sick and tired of the same repetitive things," the reality star shared.
"I thought, 'Let me dig deep and see what it is that I'm doing wrong.' Because obviously there's something I'm not doing right, even if I think I am. Now I'm doing the right thing to the best of my ability so I can become whole."
Being silent is not an option for White, either. She is letting the world know that no matter what they may say about her new relationship with Jesus, she's not stopping anytime soon.
"If you don't like it, then you just don't like it. But I will tell you this, there is a God. Nobody can tell you what to do with your religion or your faith or this or that," says White.
"I hope that me coming out will enlighten a lot of people and inspire a lot of people.
The Daily Mail shared from their interview with White that, "In recent weeks, fans have been following the star's journey as she underwent a breast reduction, removed the silicone fillers in her derriere and dissolved her facial fillers.
"Reflecting on the process to return back to Angela, the 'My Word' singer admitted it has been a 'rewarding' experience.
"Not only am I doing it for myself, but then I'm also encouraging other people that's even thinking about it," she gushed.
"It got to a point where my lips were so big, even when I would smile, you still couldn't see my teeth,' she said. 'Now you can see my teeth... I have teeth."
Reverting to the body that God designed specifically for her, White has seen what the world has to offer and rejected it in favor of a relationship with her Abba Father.
This is another example of God's radical power to transform the hearts of those who are open to Him.
When worldly influencers who boast millions upon millions of followers find salvation in Jesus Christ and share their testimony publicly, it causes spiritual waves across the world.
Thank God that this prodigal daughter came back to the loving arms of her Father, waiting patiently for the day she returned home.
If you have a prodigal child in your life, do not lose hope! Continue praying for your prodigal, that they have a radical encounter with God much like Angela White has and realize they have a heavenly Father who loves them so much, that He sent His only Son to die for them on the cross.
